Vinje takes seriously the biblical witness to tithe, to give ten percent of what we have, as the norm of our Christian life. Vinje recognizes that for many a tithe is something a person grows towards, so, as a congregation, we encourage one another to grow in giving, to grow towards a tithe by giving a greater portion each year of what we have until we move beyond.

Stewardship is about giving the first fruits of what we have.
We are called to give first, for God has a way of working
so that there is always enough left over for all the other things in life
