Milestone Ministries are offered to nurture the faith life of children and families here at Vinje. In addition to special classes held during Vinje Village such as classes on the Apostles Creed, 10 Commandments and Martin Luther we offer:
Third Grade Bible Event is offered on a Saturday morning in the fall for third graders and their parents. This event provides preliminary instruction on how to use their new Bible as well as some fun crafts, activities and fellowship. Third graders are presented their Bibles as a gift from Vinje and their parents during a Sunday service.
Luther’s Catechism Milestone is offered to 4th graders and their parents during the winter. We meet for 3 Sundays during the education hour to explore Luther’s Catechism and the Apostle’s Creed. Together we explore the meaning of these essentials of the Lutheran faith. Parents attend with their child. On Catechism Sunday each 4th graders is presented with their own catechism.
First Communion. Fifth graders and those younger that are ready to accept and understand the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The classes are offered during Lent and cumulate with celebrating First Communion on Maundy Thursday.
